Like Father Like Son

Caleb has been telling Liam, Emma and I all about the law school construction going on...there were a few weeks where there was no progress on it, since there was no state budget. But now that CA has somewhat of a budget, the construction is back on. So today I decided to venture out, and we met Caleb at his lunch break. I had told Liam we were going to see Dad at school, see the choo-choo, and the crane. Liam was so excited! We got there, and he saw it right away...I took these pictures. Like Father Like Son, is all I could think about, as we all know that Caleb loves to watch this stuff, and now so does Liam. How cute!!!

Also these are some pictures from Easter...Liam thought looking for eggs was great. We took him to our complex Easter Egg hunt, and then to our ward Easter Egg hunt. He really liked it when he figured out there were treats inside the eggs. Emma wasnt too worried about the days events, as long as we fed her.

Stairs and lots of them

Well I looked at a few websites yesterday about climbing Half Dome and I began to get a bit intimidated. As part of my so called training I've been walking the stairs in my building. I haven't been terribly dilligent with the stair climbing only going to the 8th floor and opting for the elevator about half the time but after yesterday I decided today was the day. I work in a 24 story building with an additional set of stairs to the roof. Also the distance between the first and second floor is like two floors since the first floor has a two story ceiling so that's a lot of stairs. I will have to count them sometime. It seems to me that I did count them at one time years ago but I have no recall of the number. I have read many books in that stairwell while walking both up and down the stairs. I don't recommend the reading and walking downstairs especially if you wear bifocals. Too easy to fall. I made it to the top today and I'm giving myself a big shout out for doing that. My next goal is to make the trek twice a day to get myself ready for the Half Dome excursion. I'd hate to embarrass myself. You all know how vain I am...

Climbing Half Dome

Beautiful sight don't you think?
Climbing the cables.  Slightly intimidating...

I'm going to stand right there on that precipice!!!

My friend Pam asked me to climb Half Dome with her at the end of June and I said yes.  It's a 14 to 18 mile hike and if accomplished it will give me terrific bragging rights.  Her "trainer" is also going along.  The entire hike is supposed to take about 10 hours so we will start as early as possible.  I'll let you know how my training is going.  Should be great fun.  The term fun is very relative in this statement.  Ha...
