Engaged

Well i just got all of my photos uploaded onto my computer, finally! And i thought maybe i should put up a better picture of Jesse and me! So here it is.. Aww. Isn't he handsome??! Hah Well, we are getting married in JUNE! So put it on the calendar!

Well...

It looks like Leah is going to survive this time. She will be very weakened again like last time. She's lost a lot of weight but she is more alert than she has been. That is most likely due to the fact that they are cutting back her sedation in an attempt to see if she can breath on her own. In the next couple of days they will attempt to withdraw the breathing tube and take her off the ventilator without reinserting her tracheostomy. This is the most hopeful scenario. It is possible they will have to immediately reinsert the breathing tube and then move to replacing the tracheostomy. It just remains to be seen. Leah will get sick again and she will continue to deteriorate that is a fact the only mystery is when she will get another serious pneumonia. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. In a moment of weakness while Leah was watching PBS kids and enjoying of all things a dog show I told her we would get her a dog if she came home. Now I've made a promise of a dog to a dying retarded girl. I guess that's a promise I can't break so there will be a little yappy dog in our future. My friend Jacquie is all fired up and has a breed of dog all picked out. The little yappy thing isn't supposed to get over 7 pounds. Oh yeah...another adventure. Louise and a dog. I'm picturing it right now as I type...getting wistful.

It's a new day in America

We have a new president and change is in the air.  Leah even made a very small change for the better.  Life is good...

Leah update

Well Leah continues in the ICU. She's not better but she's also not worse so that's some good news. The nursing staff got her out of bed yesterday and sat her in a chair. They also but in a pic line which they can use long term for blood draws an so forth. Nik and Jessika arrived yesterday and we went to see Leah. She looks terrible and it was pretty upsetting for them to see her that way. I'm so tough nothing bothers me. Ha... I'm almost 100% sure she will make it but the truth is it's in the Lords hands and we will accept whatever His will for Leah is. I'd post a picture but it would not be pretty so we can all just think of Leah smiling with baby Christian. I don't think baby Christian is smiling in this picture but he does smile...just not when Leah is holding him.

Baby Leah

I just love this photo of Leah. She LOVES the little grandchildren. When I asked her if she wanted to hold the baby she was so happy. If Leah dies this will be the photo on her memorial program since it catches the essence of our baby Leah. Leah continues in the ICU. She sort of goes up and down and is heavily sedated. Not much change in her pneumonia but at least it isn't getting worse. I know this is not a very cheery post but I thought it might be the easiest way to let you all know how Leah is doing. It's going to be a long ride again this time. Not the quick resolution I was hoping for. Oh well I guess it's not all about what I was hoping for. I'll keep you all posted. A Day with Trains

We had a wonderful time visiting the Hulewskys this past New Year's Eve week. Julian, Caleb and Liam visited the train museum and loved looking and touching the trains on display. They had finished up the outing with a well earned snack. Thanks for hosting us everyone! We look forward to our next visit.

Rebecca and baby Ashton

Rebecca delivered Ashton yesterday, December 31st around 5:30pm. He is 6lbs 7oz and 19 1/2 inches. I'll give a better update in a little while.
